Easier Access to Developer Tools, Platforms, and Applications

Microsoft released several components of the Microsoft Web Platform, an integrated set of tools, servers and frameworks that work seamlessly together and interoperate with popular open source applications and products that are used in the community.

What did Microsoft do annnounce they are rereleasing Visual Studio 6.0? Microsoft has not released a good development tool since. Using seemless in this paragraph is a freaking joke – didn’t anyone notice how much glue and plumbing code Microsoft applications require!
