Expression Web SuperPreview!

Mar 18, 2009 By

Expression Web SuperPreview is one of the coolest features for Web Developers featured in the Day 1 Keynote. Code your markup, and compare to Firefox, Safari, IE6 and even to your PhotoShop comps to make sure that your design is pixel-perfect! Here is an in-depth interview and demo. You can download the SuperPreview trial here.

Well, can''t really evaluate the interview, since I couldn''t hear a bloody word of it for the background music playing throughout. Didn''t seem to be associated with the interview itself, since positioning the slider had no effect on it. Clicking away did, so it''s definitely associated with the page. What''s up with that?

Hmm, shut down the browser completely and then reopened the page from the link and the music''s gone.(??) I only had that tab open in the window I was viewing in. Dunno.

@Scott; did you happen to have live.visitmix.com open in another tab? That page was set to autoplay and had background music after the keynote finished.

Friends are saying this is similar to Meer Meer (or is it Meermeer - different reports give different spellings) that Adobe announced in November and will be available ...sometime in the future. How does SuperPreview stack up against what we know about Meer-Meer?

even though it is only trial version, it will not help the developer.

I am up for giving it a try, hope it does what they say it will.

I can''t see anything. Currently the PC I''m using has Windows 2000 and IE 6. I''ll recheck from my laptop with Windows XP. So far, I use WebDeveloper toolbar. This product call my atention but nothing productive for me at this moment.

Thanks for letting us know @Fran and @Juan. The .php issue has already been filed as a bug and I will pass on the Windows 2000 issue/IE6 experience to the Web SuperPreview team!

Running SuperPreview I only see the IE6 install on my computer, and not Firefox. I also don''t see any of the "not installed" versions of browsers available.

How about a Mac version??

I only have a PC to render IE, I can so the rest on a mac.

Why is Microsoft stop making IE for Mac?

Nice one. I was struggling working with browser compatibility. Seems like MS finally have a solution. Although it would be good if we get the interactivity in the Super view too. Right now it has only the view.

This is not a full solution to viewing what a site looks like in all these browsers - as you can''t actually use JavaScript and other features like a mouseover effect, etc... Where http://www.Spoon.com is a much better solution but Microsoft told them to take it down. Please allow Spoon.net to use these browsers again - your solution (SuperPreview) is not a good solution it has many issues which Spoon does not.

Is it possible to click on buttons on pages? I need to test pages cumulatively (online courses) regarding completion, etc. If it is possible that would make the tool worth while for me...without it, not so much. Thanks.
